These techniques allow him to repair tears that some consider “irreparable.” In addition, he performs anatomic and reverse shoulder replacements for shoulder arthritis.. “I am inspired by helping people get back to doing the things they enjoy.” In addition to his position at Oregon Shoulder Institute, Dr. Denard has been appointed a Clinical Associate Professor with the Washington State University Department of Medical Education and Clinical Sciences. He is also an instructor at Oregon Health & Science University and is an Active Member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons Society and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He continues to participate in research, presenting this nationally and internationally and regularly instructs other orthopedists at courses on the shoulder. He is the co-author of two textbooks on shoulder surgery: “The Cowboy’’s Companion: A Trail Guide for the Arthroscopic Shoulder Surgeon” and “The Cowboy’s Conundrum: Complex and Advanced Cases in Shoulder Arthroscopy”. These books provide step-by-step instructions and tips and tricks for successful outcomes for orthopedic surgeons performing shoulder surgery. “I love being a shoulder specialist and have had the pleasure of taking care of people with a variety of shoulder problems from all over Southern Oregon and Northern California. I want to provide the highest level of shoulder care possible for my patients. I stay up-to-date on the latest research so that my patients get the best that is currently available in shoulder care. Whether through nonoperative means or surgery, my goal is to help my patients understand their condition and get them using their shoulder again. If you have shoulder pain, we will work together to the best of our ability to make you better.” Outside of work Dr. Denard enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, playing golf, and being a part of the local community.     Castle Connolly 2021 Top Docs
